We have been designing and manufacturing electronic products for ourselves and others since 1980.
They made three amplifiers of different series:of-the-

The 5080 is an attractive integrated amplifier with no shortage of chassis and a choice of brushed aluminum or black panels.

There is a \"spare\" switch in the center of the panel (the on-

The upper and left sides of the standby switch are high windows that are 1 \"close to 3\" long.

The right side of the panel is the volume up and down button above and below the input button.
This is the front panel.
There are four elastic feet at the bottom of the unit.
The first two chassis widths are separated, and the latter two chassis widths are close.
There is no balance control, no mute, no nomsswitch, no phone input and no headphone jack. Gold-
The plating Jack on the back of Celeste is marked with CD, a1 to A5, tape output and pre-output.
At both ends of Jack\'s row, five. way gold-

The power cord is removable.
There is no power outlet on the back panel.
The owner\'s manual recommends the use of A1 for tuners, A2 for the phonograph preamp, A3 for the tape, A4 for the home theater processor, and A5 for additional input.
When the input button is pressed and held for two seconds, the A4 input goes around the volume control and puts the amplifier in atermode.
The home theater processor then provides volume control. The pre-
The output jack can be used to control an Active Subwoofer or subwoofer amplifier.
I found them very useful for this purpose.
The signal input of the subwoofer amplifier is controlled by Celeste\'s volume control for tracking along with the main speaker.
SimAudio said that they designed Celeste without overall feedback in the amplifier section to reduce transient intermodulation distortion (THD).
The pre-amplifier section does not contain coupling capacitors, so it produces the sound as natural as possible, the company said.
Mono operation cannot bridge the amplifier.
The rated power of Celeste is 80 watts, 8 ohms, 140 watts, 4 ohms, and the peak current is 20 am ps.
The rated power of THD is less than 0.
15%, the damping factor is greater than 80.
Bandwidth is 10Hz to 80 kHz 0 /-3 dB.
Clean workmanship and high quality parts can be seen through the cooling trough at the top of the cabinet.
The device comes with a small plastic remote with battery installed.
The remote control comes with a cardboard insulation strip that must be removed to activate the battery.

It points out that the amplifier will be damaged even if it is short-lived.
It is a good idea that the amplifier must be in standby mode before changing any connection.

Use the pink noise and aRadio Shack digital read out sound level meter to match the sound level of the amplifier.
Use and listening: it is unusual for Celeste to have no relay in the signal path to delay the power of the speaker when it is turned on.
In fact, it is always in standby unless the switch on the back panel is turned off.
There is no thumps or other noise when the amplifier is turned on or off.
If a signal source exists, turning on the standby switch makes an instant sound through the speaker.
The radiator never got a little warmer during use, my speakers didn\'t prompt for a limited dynamic range and the AMP worked perfectly.
When there is no source, there is nothing but silence through the speaker.
It is also commendable that input selection switching is always unfair.
I found that targeting the remote is a little more precise than most of the other remotes I use.
There are three control functions on Theremote: power supply, volume and input selection.
The volume control is very sensitive, and unless I press and hold the button as simple as possible, move a few steps at a time.
Input selection from the remote or front panel of the amplifier requires a one-time completion selection, which is not a quick process.
In the beginning, the sound stage was narrow and concentrated between different people, and the effect was slightly wider than mono.
After using it for a few days, the sound expands to the width of the speaker and further away, and seems to get more body.
Before doing any detailed listening comparisons, I use Celeste for a few hours a day for more than two weeks.
After using it for a while, I have not experienced a change in amp sound before, unless there is something wrong with it.
I don\'t know what has changed but the difference is there. A-
B. compare with my reference system, the difference is obvious when I receive Celeste.
These differences gradually disappeared.
I compared the volume to the volume set exactly the same, such as the Radio Shack sound level meter with a digital reading and the CD with a pink noise.

Celeste has no obvious dynamic or insufficient power on my speakers, with a sensitivity of 93 dB.
In a large room, speakers with lower sensitivity may require a more powerful amplifier than Celeste. After rest-
During this time, I did not find the difference in sound between Celeste and the sculptor --
Combination of parasol.
I used the paraseleste preamp to control the parasol amp that drives the speaker, but there is no sound difference.
Last year, I reviewed the Bryston integrated amplifier, which is about $500 more than Celeste.
Bryston has certain features that are missing from Celeste, such as pre-amp-
Output and amplifier
In the jack, allow me to try other amplifiers and pre-amp combinations, all of which produce good sound.
Like Celeste, theBryston does not have a preamp either.
However, it does provide balance control, switching switch for tape monitor, direct selection of input (
Without having to go through each one in turn)
And a headphone jack.
Based on my notes on Bryston, it performs very well in sound compared to my reference system.
I may not be able to distinguish between the sound of Bryston and the level-matched Celeste.
Conclusion: I found Celeste to be a beautiful amplifier that looks of high quality.
My biggest complaint: the lack of balance control (
No optional remote)
, Lack of aphono preamp (
More and more common)
, And the selection of resources must be completed step by step.
These are not the main problems, they are personal preferences.
If you are looking for an integrated amplifier that is attractive, sounds good, and is easy to operate, I suggest you try Celeste I-5080.
This may be something you can choose from. -
